| This is my little Saab Sonett II that I bought
new in March of 1969. It is serial # 1007 Metalic Blue, and was built in
1968 in Sweden. I have owned it since new and of course am now and have
always been the only owner of the little car. I drove it many miles when
it was new and as the pictures disclose I drove it to many places from
the ocean to the high Sierra mountians. |

In 1971 the car was almost destroyed in an
accident where it was sandwiched between two full size cars at an intersection
in Stockton, CA. When it was finally rebuilt I had it painted Dodge
Plum Crazy with gold stripes on the side with SAAB letters. |
This is my tent trailer that bought an had
painted to match the car.
I then bought two ten speed bicycles which
mounted on the back window and later a 14 ft. sailboat (sunfish stile)
that mounted on the top of the tent trailer. Don't tell me that one can't
take it all with them in a sports car. I was asked many times if I had
another car with me as people just couldn't believe that we brought all
that stuff with us in the little Sonett. |

My wife and I spent many a weekend enjoying
our Sonett and driving to many far away places at speeds that would make
me wonder why I am still here. Once when we going to Hearst Castle I was
sleeping and woke up wondering why the engine seemed to be a little more
noisy than usual, I noticed that the speedometer was almost pegged out.
Asking my wife why she was driving so fast, she replied that a Volkswagon
tried to pass her. BUMMER that guy never new what happened. |
