Enid Kurzweil Sterling
Background Information
Enid Kurzweil Sterling, CPA,
is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in two states: Tennessee (1985)
and California (1989) and passed the full CPA exam on her first sitting.
After growing up in Queens, New York, she attended Georgia State University
in Atlanta, where she majored in accounting and received her bachelor of
business administration degree in 1977. Subsequently, she worked as an
accountant for Roper Corporation in Lafayette, Georgia, and then for the
accounting department of Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee.
While at Vanderbilt, Enid chaired the Vice-Chancellor's committee to develop
a university-wide employee evaluation program. In order to pursue a career
in tax accounting, Enid left Vanderbilt to work for KPMG Peat Marwick in
Nashville.
In 1986, Enid moved to Santa Barbara, California. She worked for two
local tax accounting firms before setting up her own practice in 1990,
which specializes in tax planning and tax return preparation, preparing
financial reports, and designing and implementing computerized accounting
systems for individuals and numerous locally owned businesses. Her practice
emphasizes prompt client service and reasonable rates.
Enid is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
and the Santa Barbara Womens CPA group. In 1994, she won the Santa Barbara
- Ventura County Business Digest's "Best of Business" award in
the financial services category.
