Elogia seu Testimonia de Homero

This text is a compilation of eulogies on Homer by a number of authors, commentators, and scholars from Classical times through to the Middle Ages and beyond, writing in Greek and Latin. I do not know the identity of the compiler, but any suggestions will be gratefully received and acknowledged.

Cap. I Authors in A
Cap. II Authors in B,C
Cap. III Authors in D,E,F
Cap. IV Authors in G,H,I,J
Cap. V Authors in L
Cap. VI Authors in M,N,O
Cap VII Authors in P
Cap VIII Authors in Q,R,S
Cap IX Authors in T, V, W (sic), X, Z

Please note that Cap IX unfortunately is incomplete: it should include at least one eulogy by Zeno and possibly further eulogies by other authors with names commencing with Z, but the source volume I am working from has its final pages missing. If I can track down a complete edition I shall amend Cap IX accordingly.

Notes:

I have transliterated the Greek text into unaccented Roman characters using the following simple system, which should enable the Greek text to be displayed and read on any platform:

1. The rough breathing is transliterated by "h" or "H".
2. The smooth breathing has been omitted; it is not necessary in this transcription.
3. Eta is transliterated by "ê" or "Ê", and Omega by "ô" or "Ô".
4. Upsilon is always transliterated by "u", never by "y".
5. The Iota subscript is transliterated by an italic "i" adscripted to the vowel taking the subscript.

I have adopted the following typographic conventions in order to make clear the distinction between Latin text and transcripted Greek text:
1. Greek text is in non-italic font.
2. Latin text is in italic font.
3. Names of authors in main headings are in upper case non-italic font.

Further notes on transliteration and transcription will be found in the Technical Notes file.
