Little-known Latin and Greek Texts
"many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore"

This Web Site contains a number of little-known and no longer easily accessible Latin and Greek texts.

The texts currently presented on this site are,
Thomas May's Supplement to Lucan's Pharsalia, a 17th century work in which May provides a continuation of Lucan's epic poem in seven books of Latin verse;
Paroimiai, or "Proverbs", of Michael Apostolios, an important compilation, with a Latin translation, by a 15th century Byzantine Greek author;
Pomponius Mela's "De Situ Orbis", the complete text of a 1st century AD treatise on geography.
Eulogia seu Testimonia de Homero, a compilation of eulogies on Homer by various authors in antiquity, late classical, and later.
Origen's "Philocalia", transliterated extracts from the Greek text.
