General Information

Upper Merion Boat Club is located on the Schuylkill River, in Montgomery County, about 15 miles north and west of the famous Boathouse Row in Philadelphia. The Club was formed in 1986 under the guidance of Tom Pappanastasiou, who still serves as our Commodore and general rowing guru. We currently have the following boats available for club member usage:

·         3 quads - COME ROW OUR "NEW" VESPOLI QUAD!

·         6 doubles (one of them can be rigged as a pair)

·         6 singles

·         2 Alden/rec singles

As you can see, we are almost exclusively a sculling club, but sweepies are welcome!

See below for directions.

Club Rowing Times

Beginning with Daylight Savings Time, club rows are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7:00am. During Eastern Standard Time, club rows are Saturday and Sunday mornings at 8:00am. Club rows are open to all rowers of all abilities. This is an especially good time for new rowers to come out and try the sport for free!
