Ellipses are used for indicating a redaction in the middle or end of a quoted passage. While you can use a . . . (period space period space period), often a line will break on the ellipsis. You can avoid this by using the special ellipsis character. Press Ctrl-W and select Typographic symbols for the symbol set. Scroll down until you see the ellipsis, select it and click the Insert or Insert and Close button. You can make a macro to do this or use the tip in the next section on quick correct.
