13:15 F low in the nest. 13:20 M flew into nest from E-side of the pond . We think he was on the snag at the mouth of the cove where he usually is, but with so little coverage we did not want to look for him & "spook" the F. He didn't bring any fish in with him. For a very brief time the pair was sitting side by side on the edge of the nest in profile. 13:25 M flew off. We looked for him on the west side of the pond, but again did not want to come out in the open too much so we never did spot him. 13:45 No sign of M & F is "hunkered" down in the nest.

16:15 Osprey flew off nest as we very quietly approached. 16:20 spotted on a snag on the east side of the pond not too far from the nest. 16:45 spotted what we thought was the same osprey in a pine tree on the west side of the pond opposite the nest. 17:10 Osprey still in pine tree on the west side of the pond . No sign of a second osprey during our visit.

2 ospreys perched at close (south) end of marsh, where ospreys nested several years ago, lots of freshly broken, big diameter sticks added on top of herons' nest; this should make Dame Road Gang happy! Nest is low and so very close to south shoreline! No evidence of sticks added to live pine used in 2006.
